Nothing like a personal challenge!

For us, and for others, it is always great to challenge ourselves every once in a while in order to meet our goals. Take time this weekend to reflect upon what you could personally challenge yourself with in order to ultimately help someone else.

Maybe you want to give up that morning coffee or a few days of eating out, and place the money aside to give to a cause of your choice. Or how about giving that complement to someone that you’re always thinking but never say? So whether you take a few seconds out of your day to ask someone how they are doing, or whether you collect some money you would have otherwise spent on personal pleasures, challenge yourself one step at a time.

It is too easy to get wrapped up in our own lives, and easy to forget to share our time with others. Together let’s make a conscious effort to place time aside from our days and channel it someway, somehow to someone who may need it more.

GOOD MORNING!

As I’m on my way out the door I just wanted to quickly share with you a quote from John MacDonald Jr.’s column in February’s Happy Herald’s magazine.

“Touch someone with your love. Rather than focus upon the thorns of life, smell the roses, count your blessings and don’t count the pricks.”

Have a GREAT day!

On a random side note...

We can all use a little inspiration every once in awhile, so I just wanted to share with you a quick read. I was introduced to this book by a few amazing people, and thought I'd share it with a few more amazing people (you!)

The title of the book is Peace Pilgrim. You can order a free copy online (with a suggested donation) or download it straight to your computer. Even if you just skim through a few paragraphs, I am sure that you will be touched by this woman's passion for life.

Here is a link to the website, visit it if you get a moment!

Garage Sale!

Since one person’s trash is another’s treasure, what better (and easier!) way to start raising money than a garage sale! If you have any items you’d like to donate to the garage sale- send them on over!

The garage sale is going to be on Saturday, March 19th. PLEASE DONATE any old items- nothing better than a little spring cleaning! I can arrange to pick any items up with you before then, just contact jodi.manyhelpinghands@gmail.com

And please remember to share any another ideas, I'm sure you all have AMAZING ones!

Thank you!

Welcome to Many Helping Hands!

HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK…do you hear stories or personally encounter people that you desperately wish you could help? Maybe you don’t have the time to stop, or maybe you don’t have the immediate resources to help. It may often seem challenging as an individual to make a difference, but as many of us have learned, groups of people can make huge changes if they put their hearts and minds into it. WITH PASSION AND LOVE… I hope we can become aware of our brothers' and sisters' needs, communicate them, and put our best foot forward in extending our many helping hands. No task is too small or too large with a force of people behind it. Please help me in exploring our community’s needs, and in placing our best efforts into helping one another out!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE?
This online “meeting place” holds a very simple purpose - that of reaching out to community members, asking them to let us help with any needs, and creating a force of people to make those differences. My intent is to offer a means of communication for people who may need help or for those who want to help. We have many helping hands to offer, let's use them!

WHERE DO WE BEGIN?

(This may seem vague and minimal, but it really IS this simple!)
  1. Recognizing a need
    • If you personally know someone or learn of someone who would like assistance, contact jodi.manyhelpinghands@gmail.com. If you post on this site please do not include any one's personal information.
    • I will also be posting various needs on the website, so please be sure to visit often!
  2. Gathering resources to help fulfill that need
    • Most importantly, we need a team of people willing to help out! For example, a parent who is not able to afford a math tutor for her child could benefit from a community member with that talent. Another example could be an elderly woman needing assistance around her house from a few volunteers.
    • With creativity, we can find ways to raise money or resources for any needs we may come by!
  3. Carrying out the need

WHAT NOW?

Please spread the word of this site, in the hopes that our community's needs will have an outlet to be channeled, heard, and solved. I am very hopeful that only good can come from this site! I am very open to any and all suggestions or ideas (just comment on the posts or follow the e-mail link to contact me).

Once this website has some followers, I will begin posting various "projects" and simple fundraising ideas. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and I hope you'll follow this site!

Love Always,
Many Helping Hands
